Marey is an AI tool for making videos, built by Moonvalley along with Asteria, an artist-run studio that works in film and animation. Toronto- and Los Angeles-based Moonvalley  and the team has folks from DeepMind, Meta, TikTok, Google, and others. It’s aimed at folks in Hollywood, ad companies, filmmakers, and big companies that want strong quality, more control, and video that’s legally safe to use.

It only uses data Moonvalley owns or has licensed. No internet scraping. That’s a big deal for legal and moral reasons, and it’s a big part of how they pitch it.

They also want to make top-tier video easier to get and cheaper for brands and creatives.
