In June 2025 Midjourney has launched Version 1 of its Video Model. This marks the company's first step into video after focusing primarily on image generation. The tool allows users to animate images through a new “Image-to-Video” workflow, featuring both automatic and manual motion controls.
Users can choose between high and low motion settings depending on the desired scene dynamics.
Videos can be extended in 4-second increments, up to four times, and external images can also be animated. The tool is initially available via web and is priced similarly to existing image upscale features.
The video model has impressive high motion dynamics, great aesthetics and particularly good claymation style animation.
Midjourney aims to evolve toward real-time, interactive 3D simulations by gradually developing and integrating these foundational technologies.
